Helpful Information for Patients

The practice does not send out any reminders for appointments!
It is the responsibility of the patient to diarise and honour their appointment.

• Fee structure: The Practice charges Discovery B rates.

• PMB Conditions. Some mood disorders can fall under Prescribed Minimum Benefits. This ensures 15 sessions of 20 to 50 minutes paid in a calendar year (in full if you are on Discovery and in part if you are on another medical aid).

• Patients pay mainly by EFT, credit cards or cash and claim from their medical aids afterwards.

• Sessions are usually 50 minutes long. Some follow-up sessions last 20 minutes.

• If you need to cancel or shift any appointment it needs to be done 24 working hours in advance otherwise the fee will be charged in full.

• All scripts, motivations, chronic forms etc. that are requested to be completed outside of your appointment time will be charged for (payable upfront). If it is done at your appointment there will be no extra fee.

• Any script requests outside of appointment times needs to be done via email or phone (preferably email) giving the exact medication you are on, the exact dosage and fax number or email where it needs to be sent.

• Most scripts have to be supplied to the pharmacy in its original form. Make sure with your pharmacy before you call us what their policy is. If you have requested us to fax the script and your pharmacy informs you that they need the original script an extra fee may be charged.
